About Me
Between Logic and Lived Experience
I was born and raised in Germany to Indian parents, which means I grew up learning punctuality, planning, and efficiency while also mastering the art of organized chaos at home. Eventually, we packed our bags and moved back to India, where I completed my five-year Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and officially learned how to survive on deadlines, coffee, and last-minute design ideas.
During my academic years, curiosity took me beyond borders. I secured a fully funded Erasmus+ semester exchange to Turkey, where we carried out an extensive urban analysis and design project for Bologna, Italy. Somewhere between maps, models, and Mediterranean cafés, my interest in contextual and people-centric design took shape.
Competitions kept things exciting too. I secured the first position in an earthquake-resistant workshop design competition at IIT Kanpur, and at my graduation ceremony, I was awarded the “Meritorious Student Awards for Architecture 2019” by Kajaria—a title that politely confirmed what my friends already knew: I like details, maybe a little too much.
My initial professional years were spent working with architectural firms in Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Gurgaon, where I focused on conceptual designs, 3D visualisations, and working drawings for residences, offices, and schools. When office hours ended, I freelanced services. This allowed me to collaborate on projects across India, Australia, Germany, Mauritius, and Nigeria, sharpening my ability to adapt to different cultures, scales, and expectations.
In 2021, I moved back to Germany and joined a local architectural firm in Frankfurt, specializing in the renovation and expansion of historically significant schools and residential buildings. From concept design and research to government approvals, working drawings, budgeting, construction timelines, site coordination, and documentation. I worked through every layer of the process and learned architecture the real, hands-on way (including the fine art of dealing with regulations).
After a few years of professional growth and plenty of travel stories across Europe—I felt the pull back to my roots. I returned to India with the intention of reinterpreting a structured, systems-driven approach to design within a fast-growing and dynamic context.
Today, I work as a freelance architect on projects in India and Germany, collaborating with homeowners, businesses, real estate teams, and builders. I enjoy working across scales and typologies, believe good design should be both thoughtful and buildable, and am always excited by projects that ask the right questions—preferably before construction begins. 😉
If architecture is about shaping spaces for people, then my journey—across countries, cultures, and construction sites—has shaped the way I design: practical, contextual ….and just a liiiiiiittle bit curious.
